DCP Limestone Rd initiative hailed “Great Success”

04 Oct DCP Limestone Rd initiative hailed “Great Success”

Intercomm Executive Director Liam Maskey has praised the work of Duncairn Community Partnership for their International Peace Day event on Limestone Rd last week.

Approximately 500 people were together on Sunday 20th Sept on Limestone road for a cross community fun day and dinner (150 ate dinner together with a “Meet your Neighbours” event.  Approx 100 children from Currie and Holy Family Primary schools and 70 senior citizens extended yesterday’s work into today for International Peace Day on Monday 21st Sept.

Speaking after the event Intercomm’s Executive Director Liam Maskey said:

This was a highly successful initiative under the IFI's Peace Walls programme. This area was synonymous over the years for interface conflict so to see the turn-around with initiatives such as this it's extremely heartening and is down to the strong partnerships built up by many people over many years. I want to praise the work of Harry, Ciaran, Leanne, Kate and everybody else that plays such a positive role in DCP. We are proud to continue to play a role as one of its many partners.
